Performance Racing Industry 2022

What is PRI?

PRI or Performance Racing Industry is an annual trade show held by the body that oversees SEMA. It’s been in Indianapolis for a few years now, in the Indianapolis Convention Center. For 2022 it was held from Dec 8 – 10.

The scale of the show is slightly smaller than SEMA, but it still covers multiple wings of the Indianapolis Convention Center, the hallways, many rooms, and spills over into the Lucas Oil Stadium. It is however much more racing industry focused than the more generalized SEMA show, and definitely one of note for anyone interested in racing. You’ll find racers, event organizers and track owners, many vendors, engine builders and machine shops, media outlets, and much more all under one roof. There are key speakers, autograph sessions, and seminars in addition to the goings on on the show floor. You’ll truly be pressed to cover everything on your list in 3 days.

What Kind of Racing is PRI About?

All of it. PRI this year had Indy cars sitting next to NASCAR Cup cars, power boat leagues, tractor pulling, drag racing, and then Gamma Motorsport’s main interest, sports car racing. If you enjoy any form of racing, or work in any part of the industry, you’ll find something here that applies to you.

Parts

I stopped by to see our folks at Redline. They had a small display up, and large quantities of information. You can see our stocked items from them over on the Inventory page!

I had to stop in the Penske booth to pick up a little more information. They had plenty of shocks on display, as they cover all kinds of applications, and a shock dyno demo. If you need anything from them, you can take a look at the Penske catalog and we can set you up with what you need from them!

I also spent some time in the Wilwood booth getting some ideas from there as well. Gamma Motorsports will definitely be stocking some of the brake bleed bottles soon! Some of their brake fluids on hand here as well. If you have any other needs, Contact Us! If you need ideas, check out the Wilwood catalog!

Equipment

Intercomp was on hand, and we should have some of their tire gauges on hand this year. They had a nice torque wrench calibration tool on hand as well! If you fancy anything from Intercomp, we can get it for you!

There was enough pit equipment to make anyone working on their car salivate! We can get a fair bit of what’s pictured here as well! (Some of it in alternative brands from what’s pictured)

Sports Car Racing

So many classes of sports car racing were represented at the show. I spent a fair bit of time in the FLIS Performance booth learning what I could about the MX5 Cup cars.

Some Gridlife and time attack representation was on hand as well. The GLTC ASM S2000 piloted by Tom O’Gorman was in the Hawk booth.

Savannah Little’s competed in Gridlife time attack in this LS swapped 350Z that was in the Autolite booth.

The Bryan Herta team had one of their championship winning Elantra N TCRs in the Fluid Logic booth. It’s worth noting there’s minor differences in the Elanta Ns you’ll find in IMSA competition and with SRO.

There was no shortage of Trans Am cars on hand.

Link ECU had a Prototype chassis in their booth and had also picked up a product award while at the show.

Other Forms of Racing

There was no shortage of drag cars on hand. With PRI being the size event that it is, you’ll find all the way up to top fuel cars there.

Vibrant had a Mustang bodied drag car in their booth displaying their new HD clamps on the charge piping. We plan to have Vibrant back soon. Anyone needing their parts is welcome to get in Contact with us, and maybe we’ll bump that timeline up a bit!

There were even some historically significant drag cars on hand as well!

Dirt oval was represented as well.

Tractors play in the dirt as well, and I had no idea how massive these pulling tractors were until I was standing next to one!

I’d never seen one of the Ford GT development cars in person either until PRI!
