You will have to check the sanctioning body’s rule book who you intend to drive with to determine what ratings are still allowed to be used. Many grassroots bodies allow the current rating, plus the previous two (which can effectively grant you 14 more years on an old Snell rating). Some only allow the previous one. I have seen ones that allow the previous 3. Some may not check at all depending on how lax tech is. Semi-pro level series may not allow Snell ratings and instead require FIA ratings. Your best resource is going to be your rule book.
